In this guide, you’ll learn how to install a trading robot on MetaTrader 5.

The first step is to get the robot you want to use and understand how it works. For example, you might want to use the Profit Wave EA, which is one of the best.

First, you’ll download a zip file that comes as the EA.

Once you have the zip file, you want to extract it to get the resource filesMQL5 programs.

Now, let’s move on to MetaTrader 5. Open the platform and go to File, then select Open Data Folder. This will open a new folder where you will navigate to mql5.

Inside the mql5 folder, open the Experts folder. Here, you can create a new folder named Profit Wave to keep your files organized. Open that folder and paste the source files you copied earlier.

After you’ve pasted the files, go back to MetaTrader 5. Click on View and then select Navigator. Make sure the navigator is visible. From there, find the Expert Advisors section. Click the little plus sign to open the folder, then right-click and select Refresh.

Now, you should see the Profit Wave folder. Click the plus sign next to it to see the EA. Choose any currency pair you want to use the robot on and drag it onto the chart.

When you drop it on the chart, a prompt window will appear. Go to the Inputs tab and change any parameters you want. Then, go to the Common tab and check the box to Allow automated trading. This step is very important! After that, click OK.

If you installed it successfully, you’ll notice changes in the chart colors, and you’ll see your balance and equity. As the robot starts trading, you will see your profits and losses displayed.

If at the top right corner, there’s a little head icon that’s gray, it means the robot isn’t working. To fix this, go to Algo Trading and click it. The button should turn green, and the EA will start looking for trades in the market.
